Submissions

Annie Bomke Literary Agency is interested in representing a wide variety of adult and YA fiction and nonfiction, including commercial and literary fiction, upmarket fiction, mysteries (from hilarious cozies to gritty police procedurals and everything in between), historical fiction, women’s fiction, psychological thrillers, literary/psychological horror, self-help, business, health/diet, cookbooks, memoir, relationships, current events, psychology, and narrative nonfiction. I'm especially looking for books that feature diverse characters.

Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) with all hard copy submissions. Annie Bomke Literary Agency will read your material and respond to you within 8-12 weeks of submission.
Submission guidelines for fiction:
For all fiction submissions, please include a query letter, synopsis, and the first 20 pages of your manuscript pasted in the body of the email.
Submission guidelines for nonfiction:
For all nonfiction submissions, please include a query letter and proposal.
A proposal contains:
A one page overview of your project and what distinguishes it from published books on a similar topic.
A one page bio explaining your background and what makes you uniquely qualified to write this book. If you are a previously published author, please list your books and how many copies of each have been sold.
A marketing and promotion section explaining your level of visibility nationwide and how you would promote the book. Name any media coverage you’ve experienced in the form of newspaper and magazine articles, or television appearances, and what connections you have to promote your book through these channels. List any professional honors or accolades you have received, or any major associations you are a part of and how they can be leveraged to result in book sales. If you frequently give speeches on this topic, include a list of your past and upcoming speaking engagements (including whom you are speaking to, and how many people will be in attendance). If you are associated with any businesses or high profile individuals who have promised to help you promote your book, please explain who they are and how they have promised to promote your book. If you have a popular blog, a significant email list, or a big Facebook or Twitter following, please describe how this would promote your book. If you have received endorsements from high-profile customers, authors, or other notable names, please include them.
A competitive works section comparing your book to 5-6 popular books on the same topic and explaining how your book will provide a unique perspective and break new ground.
A table of contents with a summary of each chapter.
